Current Volunteer Opportunities
Naomi House is growing and with this growth come many opportunities to volunteer!
Looking for opportunities to build meaningful relationships with people of other cultures? We need committed Christians to come alongside Naomi House as we help refugees settle in Manitoba.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Settlement care
Help newly arrived refugees with some of the following tasks: Apply for SIN, MB health card, enroll kids in school, open a bank account, learn public transportation, find a family doctor, take them shopping for: groceries, household items, furniture, clothing. - ESOL/Language partner/ Tutors
Teach English or lead a conversation group, meet one on one for English practice, tutor refugee children with schoolwork, lead home maintenance Seminars. - Drivers/Vehicle volunteers
Take newcomers to various appointments transport and help move furniture as needed providing practice to newcomers help(non-financial) a newcomer buy a reliable vehicle. - Administration Volunteer
Help Naomi House in a variety of administrative tasks. This could include applications for: Refugee sponsorship forms, Child tax benefits, GST, library card/Bus pass, newcomer subsidies, etc.
New Neighbours
One exciting opportunity is New Neighbours. Here, a group of people (e.g. a church small group or Sunday school class) will walk alongside a refugee family.
Responsibilities include:
- Celebrating birthdays
- Going on outings (e.g. parks, the zoo, the movie theatre)
- Sharing meals in your home
- Building friendships

Adopt A Room
Would your church or small group like to Adopt A Room at Naomi House? Help support our ministry while building a friendship with the room’s residents. Here are some examples of what that could look like:
- Celebrating birthdays
- Going on outings (e.g. parks, the zoo, the movie theatre)
- Sharing meals in your home
- Showing hospitality
